A trendy, artsy cafe in Daehak-ro, Hyewha station
(Line 4, exit 1 or 2)
Cafe Taschen is exactly as what the name suggests --
Art books. And a lot of them too.
All accesible free, as you drink their coffee, tea, or wine.
Not too sure if they actually have any affiliation with the publishing company,
however it's likely. They sell their books that are on display too.
This is absolutely nice.
They offer free corking on mondays, as long as you order a side menu.
Bring your own wine!
Another service they offer: you can borrow iPads while you're there!
Their beverages run on the higher side,
5,000 to 8,000.
Food goods... uh...
7,000 to 12,000 I think?
Desserts: 5,500 to 9,000 ish.
They have a pretty extensive wine list as well.
Sorry, I got lazy and this is all I took of it.
Nice to see older wines, but I have a feeling some are a bit too old...
They should offer their older stocks on sale.
Beverages
Tea, Yam latte
Cookie & Cream latte
Torte Cheese Cake
It's quite different from a New York style cheese cake.
The texture reminds me of... thick meringue?
Fluffy, not too much cheese flavour (probably mascrapone)
Maybe aired mascarpone whipped with cream?
Anyways.... different, but not too extravagant
Their sky-blue coffee machine that I absolutely adore.
So pwetty!
Overview
I don't think I'd go to any other cafe aside from this one, in this region.
Their tea and stuff is alright, nothing extravagant
but it's a nice place to have a chat and chill.
Will definitely return on a Monday with a bottle of wine!
