A Chinese restaurant, famous for their lamb skewers
located near Konkuk University Station (Lines 2 & 7 - green & dark green)
A must visit - I've taken friends that have lived in Beijing for years,
and They have gone crazy over the food here too. Very authentic.
Walk out from exit number 5.
Walking straight out, you'll see a Lotte Department store on your left:
There will be a Watsons, a gas station, a hotel (? wedding place?) on your right
as you walk towards your destination...
When you see this sign, rejoice! as you are near.
The sign reads "lamb skewer road", "Chinese food road"
as it suggests, there will be tons and tons of Chinese restaurants that sell lamb skewers and etc.
However, tempt not, there is the one true restaurant that rules them all.
Turn right on this sign.
And here we are. Dun dun dun!
Right across from a police station-y building as well as a public parking lot
Nice to know there is no need to scramble around for a parking spot
This is where the skewers are roasted
A waiting list for their busy hours. And yes, I've waited to eat here before.
Inside
The Menu
They have quite an extensive menu,
do keep in mind that the pictured only serves as an example of what they have
A great place to go for Chinese food lovers.
The Food
Overview
A great place to go eat after visiting the nearby
Children's Grand Park, or Seoul Forest
....but perhaps not with kids.
A rather small crowded (and loud) area with a chance of being on the waiting list
Their food service is on the faster side, especially with the skewers
The sweet and sour pork was fried in some type of grain batter making it extra crispy,
although the meat was near nonexistent the texture itself made it more than enjoyable
The lamb skewers were well seasoned, the cumin dip complimenting it.
Although having skewers by itself is somewhat lacking, ordering something else with it is a must.
The sweet and sour pork is indeed decent with the lamb,
but I've tried the julienned stir-fried pork & veggies
(my friend had called 'the Chinese staple', uh-hyang yook sul I believe?)
with rolled bread (kkot-bbang), topped with Ching tao beer -
made a much more memorable meal.
I intend to re-visit this place more in the near future to explore their other menus.
Must try, if you're nearby!
