Korean - Miss Lee's Cafe

Byul-dabang Miss Lee
which is a Korean pun on Starbucks

is located in 3 places:
it's original location being the heart of foreign tourism - Insadong
then Myungdong, and Daehak-ro (Hyewha station)

All conveniently located near the subway station...
The Insadong location is a 2 minute walk from exit 6 of Anguk station - Line 3
The Daehak-ro location is somewhere between exit 2, 3 of Hyewha station - Line 4
(in all honesty I haven't been to this local, sorry)

I've visited their Myungdong location which is a short walk from
exit 6 of Euljiro 1ga station, on line 2 - the green line

Outside, there was Miss Lee's mascot available for photo-taking with
and on the side you can see their mailbox where they offer to send your postcards
after 100 days

A little bit of over exposure here....
They offer their menus at a thriftier price during lunchtime

Walking in, more mailboxes can be seen
available to send your postcards!

Cute decor on your way up and down

Their only food item - the 'Doshirak' which means packed lunch
is explained on the side of their stairs

*Do mix the ingredients before you shake!*

Inside view

You can hang personal notes anywhere in the store, and as you can see
they are hung EVERYWHERE

Just like the mailbox event that they have,
they have little events here and there that you can participate while you're there

The pink sheets on the left reads "One per table"
Pick out one of the stubs that contain first prize to fifth

Mine had 4th prize on it, which was the 'snack of the day'
the snack, I will unwillingly admit, was pretty good

The Menu

At the sound of our green alarm, our food was ready.

As I was pretty full from my lunch
it was only my friend that had ordered the packed lunch
I had Omija tea which comes with a side of Korean desserts instead

Inside the packed lunch!
Rice, egg, circular sausages, and stir-fried kimchi with pork

Also comes with a side of Korean-style spicy miso soup ^^

On my way out as I was taking pictures of the restaurant...

I was awarded with this!
A gift voucher for Miss Lee's Cafe, another event that they were doing!

I got lucky with the gift voucher, apparently you are supposed to upload your
photos of Miss Lee's cafe of yourself via Facebook or Kakao Story (an extension to Kakao talk)
and they reward you a 5000 won gift voucher for Miss Lee's cafe.

Another thing is that if you pay in cash for 3 drinks or more
they reward you with another free beverage coupon!

oh oh, and although I didn't order it this time around,
one thing I always order is their shaved ice.
Friends tell me it's the traditional way of making it with bean powder and such,
it was quite different from the ones I was used to...
Something I would recommend getting, however it sits at the hefty price of 15,000 won

And one more thing...
If more than half of your party orders drinks, all the drinks become refillable.
Same with the Doshiraks (packed lunches), if everyone orders it, they become refillable too.

This place reminds me of the old 'Minto' cafe that had little 'house rules' here and there
however Minto, after an extreme success went down south due to
a lot of bad business choices/changes they made

Hopefully Miss Lee's cafe keeps up with their retro-Korean style!
