Korean - Iljick Sikdang

Not too far from Andong train station,
there's a restaurant famous for their "Gan Godeunguh"
-- which means "salted mackerel".

These salted mackerels are an Andong specialty,
they are also sold frozen to go, or you can choose to have them shipped to your residence.
Your semi-permanent Korean one, of course.

Salted as a method of preservation, these mackerels were preserved
for the rich and noble of Andong; a city that is far inwards from sea.
Marinating their mackerels has now a historic value to the city.
So if you're a fan of grilled fish of some sort, do try!

8,000 won per person... Not really that cheap.
Especially if you headed in for a quick breakfast/lunch.

Table for two.

They offered Andong sikhye for dessert,
which is quite different from the traditional kind where you find outside of Andong.
It's spiced with red pepper, and has bits of white radish.
Interesting...
